It’s a gorgeous sunny day as the eagle soars through the sky. Suddenly the wind begins to pick up and clouds begin to roll in from far away. The eagle looks ahead and in anticipation sees the storm off in the distance and begins to prepare himself. As the winds begin to pick up the eagle waits with immense patience. Then as the storm finally comes to a head the eagle uses that wind to thrust him high in the air above the storm. The eagle then soars upward in the gorgeous sunny day above the storm while waiting for it to pass.
In Isaiah 40: 31 it states: “But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.“ That scripture is showing us that in life when a storm is approaching we are to prepare ourselves as the eagle does. God may not always deliver us from storms, but if we prepare ourselves and wait on the Lord He will give us His strength so we can rise above them as they pass. When the biggest storm of my life came and I was left paralyzed, I had to hope in the Lord and use His strength to soar above it. In doing so I am able soar as the eagle and continue to enjoy bright, sunny days even though I’m paralyzed.
In life, you will encounter storms of all kinds. When they come choose to wait on the Lord to carry you above them just as the eagle does. Through His strength we can still press through not becoming weary or weak. In doing so we can continue to have a beautiful, perfect sunny day when actually in reality it’s storming all around us. Choose to live free in His presence high as an eagle instead of letting the storms of life defeat you.
