Love is so powerful that it can drive you to climb mountains, walk 5000 miles, or swim an ocean channel just to see that special someone again. While love moves us to do these incredible things the true essence of love is so much deeper. When you truly live out love it always motivates you to be patient, kind and understanding with others. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things, but more than that, love is a never ending passion derived from God.
One of my best friends, Brett Millican, gave his wife a paperweight for Valentine’s Day 18 years ago when they were just 17 years old. Why a paperweight you ask? Well, it wasn’t just any old paperweight. It was a rose encased in glass and with it he left the note, “When this rose dies, so does my love for you.” His romantic gestures didn’t stop there and in his quest to display his endless love for his wife over the years he was reminded that the true never ending love of God and the intimacy we share with Him was even more powerful. In Brett’s blog, Beautiful Pain, he describes that love.
Take a few minutes and read it and discover a deeper love by Gods defining Hand. It will truly move you.
Brett and his wife Melissa are two of the most loving, selfless people I know. They have been going through the different processes to adopt two children from oversees. The adoption process is long and expensive so while you’re on their website, Another Toaster Strudel, please browse the fundraising options and consider contributing to their adoption. Thanks. Be blessed.
