Seeing God

in Seeing God on 14/03/13

One of the most amazing things to me about God is how magnificent He is. If you ever stop and take a deep look at all the powerful, breathtaking, and awe-inspiring things He’s created it will simply blow your mind. From the way our bodies are intricately formed together, to the billions of stars in the sky, to the brilliantly crafted colors and creations of nature the list of His artistry is absolutely endless.

George Washington Carver said, “I love to think of nature as an unlimited broadcasting station, through which God speaks to us every hour, if we only will tune in.” I believe that tuning in to God with everything in us and around us is one of the most important things we should be doing. God desires to have a deep, intimate relationship with us and He is constantly speaking to us all throughout the day.

I came to realize after my accident that life can be taken way too seriously. Before my accident I rarely took time to pay attention to the small things happening around me or even try to tune in to what God might be speaking to me. I was a believer, but I was far more focused on the next big drama or some “want” I just thought I couldn’t live without. Then poof, one day you’re paralyzed and all those things seem mundane and unimportant. I quickly realized the significance in taking time each and every day to stop and seek out those small intimate moments.

Those moments become sacred and special and then stuff happens and those moments seem to get further and further apart. Twenty years passes and you wake up one day realizing, paralyzed or not, life took on a role of it’s own and the small things have yet again faded off in to the distance. How did life get so busy that I stopped seeing God in the beauty around me again? I mean, don’t get me wrong, I didn’t lose my faith. I just got busy living and how quickly you can forget to see God in all things throughout the day. Then for Christmas my dad got me the devotional, “Jesus Calling.” As I read through each one everyday, boy was Jesus Calling. My eyes have been reopened and God’s majesty has begun shining through ever since.

One of the reasons I started this blog is to help encourage others through my trials, and triumphs from my injury. In doing so I believe it’s equally important to also share those inspiring moments where I truly see God through my everyday walk. As I go on this journey growing together with God I will be posting ways He speaks to me. Whether it’s through a morning sunrise, a beautiful flower, or the love of a child, He is always talking, sharing His love, waiting for us to see His magnificence.  His broadcasting station is one that I want to watch all day everyday and never stop. As I tune in I look forward to sharing my journey with you.

God bless…

Undeniably believe that which you said. Your favorite reason appeared to be on the net the simplest thing to be aware of. I say to you, I definitely get annoyed while people consider worries that they plainly don’t know about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top and defined out the whole thing without having side effect , people could take a signal. Will probably be back to get more. Thanks
